Bald Freak Music is the brainchild of Ron Scalzo, erstwhile radio employee, musician, & all-around good guy. Having shared many a respective horror story involving both independent & major labels with friends & other artists, Scalzo came to the conclusion that "just because a label can do something, doesn't mean they will." Unfortunately, his experiences as an artist with said labels have proven that point many times over.

And so, in response, Bald Freak Music is born - to release the albums of independent, self-sufficient artists we've previously worked with & maybe pick up some friends along the way. Bald Freak Music is not about to break ground in the music biz - we put out music we think we can promote & promise to do our darndest to get people to salivate over it (in a good way). And unlike most labels - we mean it. So far, the artists on Bald Freak have had music featured on various reality shows on MTV & elsewhere, in independent films, TV & radio commercials - not to mention thousands of albums sold here & overseas, radio play both internationally & domestically. Bald Freak artists have shared the stage with various name acts - from Guns N Roses to Gavin DeGraw, Mya to Nancy Sinatra. Tours have spread as far as France, Sweden, Russia, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, & the UK.

We may be Freaks, but we're honest, artist friendly ones. We do things on a shoestring budget with no outrageous promotional or production costs. In addition to our own eclectic releases, we hope to allow bands we admire the freedom to release music they might not be able to, or want to, release on other labels.

All Freaks are welcome, both bald & otherwise. For we all will be bald someday....

Ron is the label founder. He handles all label correspondence, A&R, site maintenance, booking, promotions, mailings, financial decisions, mafia hits, & Bumblefoot nagging. He rarely sleeps & flosses regularly.

The Danhead created this website & then disappeared into deep space. Otherwise known as Michigan.

SETH KUSHNER - PHOTO & DESIGN FREAK

Seth is a kick-ass photographer & designer, and, for whatever reason, is largely influential in many of the conceptual & stylistic ideas for the Bald Freak artists. He is also a big nerd who collects action figures & worships Luke Skywalker. Check him out at www.sethkushner.com

KATIE BALLOU - INTERN FREAK

When not listening to Zappa, reading up on the latest exploits of Ben Franklin, or playing footsie with Ashton, Katie spends her time familiarizing herself with the wonders of international Customs labels. Katie goes to SUNY Purchase - and they're actually giving her CREDIT for interning with BFM.
